Summary: Alfie Collinson is a stone carver who transforms the Haida people's creation stories into art. Using argillite, a stone found only in Haida Gwaii, Alfie is one of the best contemporary Haida carvers. He journeys to sacred ground to quarry the stone, slabs of which are delicate and difficult to remove.
