Cover art of this book is created by artist Sheldon Meek. The artwork is called The Messenger. "Sheldon Meek is an Anishinaabe artist and is a member of the Kitigan Zibi Anishinabeg. His work is inspired by his culture and traditions. He has completed art pieces that are mounted in the Sacred Heart Church of the First Peoples in Edmonton, Alberta. He has also completed a number of commissioned art pieces." - from preface, page 24 of book.
Sheila Cote-Meek is Anishinaabe from the Teme-Augama Anishnabai. Taima Moeke-Pickering is a Maori of the Ngati Pukeko and Tuhoe tribes.
