Summary:

Invasions barbares. Having a difficult time accepting the reality of his death, and feeling regretful of his past and his estrangement from his son, a man dying of cancer brings his family and friends together to try to find peace in his final moments. His son tries to bring a measure of happiness and comfort to these last days.

L'âge des ténèbres. In his dream, Jean-Marc is a knight in shining armor, a star of stage and screen and a successful author who has women fallen at his feet and into his bed. In reality, Jean-Marc is a nobody--civil servant, insignificant husband, failed father, and closet smoker. Will Jean-Marc be able to resist the temptations of his dreamland or will he decide to carve out a life of his own?
