New Waterford girl Cover Image DVD DVD

New Waterford girl [videorecording (DVD)] / Alliance Atlantis presents a Sienna Films, Imagex production ; produced by Jennifer Kawaja, Julia Sereny ; directed by Allan Moyle ; screenplay by Tricia Fish.

Summary:

15-year-old Mooney Pottie is a misfit. Her dreams of attending a writing college in New York City are too big for the small, conservative coal-mining town of New Waterford, Cape Breton. In the mid-70s, in this cramped little Catholic community on Canada's east coast, there's only one reason a young lady would leave ... and it would not be by choice. Then a high-spirited 16-year-old New Yorker moves in next door and the two come up with a plan to escape New Waterford ... in the only way possible.
