General Note:
"Traci Sorell is the author of We Are Grateful: Otsaliheliga, which recieved an American Indian Youth Literature Award (AIYLA) honor, a Sibert honor award, an Orbis Pictus honor award, and a Boston Globe-Horn Book honor award. She also wrote We Are Still Here! Native American Truths Everyone Should Know; At the Mountain's Base; and Classified: The Secret Career of Mary Golda Ross, Cherokee Aerospace Engineer. She co-authored the AIYLA winner Indian No More. Traci writes for young people because of the lack of children's books featuring contemporary Native Americans. While Traci's tribe, the Cherokee Nation, has a different type of dance tradition, she enjoys watching the jingle dress and grass dancers when she attends powwows." -- Back fold.
