Summary: Homelessness & Health in Canada brings together leading and emerging researchers to advance understanding of the complex relationships between homelessness and health. This book is divided into three distinct but complementary sections. In the first section, contributors explore how homelessness affects the health of particular populations, focusing on the experiences of homeless youth, immigrants, refugees ad people of Aboriginal ancestry. In the second section, they investigate how housing and public health policies and programs can address various health challenges experienced by homeless populations, including mental illness and HIV/AIDS.
